Free Baby Shower Ecards You Can Use For Your Party
Baby shower ecards are a pretty new and relatively easy way to send baby shower invitations to your guests. Most of the ecard providers offer their own hosting for the cards, so they can be viewed online and people can comment on the same page.
Ecards can be a great way to get a hold of a large group of people who communicate online.
When can baby shower ecards be used?
In most situations, an actual invitation that you hand out or mail would be best for a baby shower. I personally prefer sending out and receiving actual handheld invitations, but there are some situations that ecards can be used.
Here are a few situations where ecards could work:
- Office baby showers where everyone communicates by email and the guest list is not exclusive to a small group of friends.
- A large church shower in which all church members receive updates by an email list.
- An online group of friends that might live far apart but spend a good amount of time together online.
- Family or friends that live far apart but might want to get together to plan a long distance shower or baby shower in a box.
- A facebook page set up for a group invite for the baby shower.
Where can you get baby shower ecards?
I've checked around and found a couple reputable websites that do ecards.Smilebox by Hallmark- I like their invitations but love how the designs are animated. It makes it fun to watch. You can choose to have different kinds of music on it if you would like. Guests are able to comment under the invitation on the site. The free version has ads displayed on the side, but if you sign up for the free 14 day trial, your guests would be able to see the invitation ad free. They also have an option for you to print it from home or post to a facebook account. Sign up for a free account to see all options.
Here is an example of one of their cards:
PurpleTrail.com- They have cute cards. They are not animated like smilebox's, but they have decent designs in different styles. It allows you to also add photos and videos along with the ecard to the page the guests see. Guests can also post comments for everyone to view. The basic service is free, but you will not be able to actually send the ecards until you click on the verification link they send to your email. Also, I found out that you are not able to send an ecard to the email you sign up with, but others receive the ecard just fine. They also have options to print your invitations from home or ordering your prints through them.
If you find out that ecards are not for you, check out our baby shower invitation section to get ideas on invitation styles.
Hope that helps! Best of luck with your baby shower!
