Pool Baby Shower
by Christy
I am planning my 15 year old's baby shower in July at a swimming pool and need some ideas for a theme and games. Can you please help?
Our Answer:
Hi Christy,
The first thing you need to do is decide on a theme. It could be anything like a rubber ducky theme or under the sea theme. It could even be a "swimming theme" or Hawaiian luau theme. Once you have a theme then it will help you as you decorate and plan the shower.
One idea for instance is rubber duckies. You can float them in the pool, have a smaller pool to put the cold drinks in or float the rubber duckies in the punch bowl. The baby's gender, if known will also come into play when decorating. Balloons are an easy way to decorate around a pool. Tiki torches, grass skirt trimming on the edges tables and strands of party lights can be set out to give a festive feel to the party.
I am not sure if the guests you are planning to have at the baby shower are her age or not. Planning a party for that age level, you would need more active games. Check out our coed baby shower games section to get ideas for active games that would be fun at to play.
Barbeques usually work great with pool parties. And depending if guys are invited or not...they are usually a big hit with the guys. Fruit skewers and a watermelon baby carriage are fun and fresh ways to bring a tropical feel to the baby shower.
We also have pages for a duck baby shower theme and Hawaiian theme on the site that might help you as you plan the baby shower.
Good luck planning the baby shower!
