I am so excited to share an adorable sports theme shower sent in by Georgia. It is full of inspiration and fun! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

I used the nursery bedding as my inspiration, then went from there! The diaper sandwich wraps were made from a tortilla that I cut out in the shape diapers and filled with turkey, sun-dried tomato spread, herb cream cheese, and red Boston lettuce, then fastened with frilled picks and swords.

We served a strawberry spinach salad, and redskin potato salad with it. The punch was blue Kool-aid, frozen pina colada mix, club soda, and a little white cranberry juice. I found the soccer ball duck to float in it at Toys R Us.

I got the cupcake sports icing designs at a local party store, and used them on gourmet bakery cupcakes.

I made a square and folded into a triangle, filled it and then folded all points to center to look like a diaper and used one plastic toothpick to hold together. They turned out cute. :)

How to Make a Diaper Tortilla

Hi there,

To make a diaper tortilla, you will want the basic shape of a diaper when you open it up. Cut an hourglass shape out of the tortilla, with the top part a little longer then the bottom. The top will mimic the diaper tabs. Since the top is a little longer, you will be able to wrap to two edges over the bottom half when you fold the bottom up. Then use picks to hold everything together. :)

Wow! Thank you for your ideas! I love the diaper tortilla wrap idea. It is really cute...and the punch recipe sounds delish! Yummm! I didn't know that you could order sugar decorations to go on the cupcakes. They really make the cupcakes look professional. Great job on your baby shower. I hope mine turns out as well as yours did! ;)

Sports Baby Shower

A Michael Jordan image would be cute for a sports baby shower. You can use a black and white image and have the colors of the party be black, white and red or black, white and pink/blue (depending on the sex of the baby). You can really play up the colors with solid tableware and balloons. The red and white striped popcorn containers would go really cute with this theme.

Popcorn Bags on Ebay

I just checked ebay and they have lots of cute Onesies, booties, hats, etc for babies. You can pick up some cute items and use it for a baby clothesline, diaper cake or to decorate the walls and tables at the party.
