I am hosting a baby shower and there will be 7 children attending with their moms I was wondering what to give the kids as gifts for coming to the shower the children range in age from 13 to 2 any ideas?? I have great gifts for the adults but don't want the kids to feel left out.

Our Answer:

Hi Susan,

Wow, the baby shower sounds like it is going to be lots of fun. Here are some gift ideas that might work for your young party guests. The most inexpensive and probably the most fun for the smaller children would be balloons. They can be used for decorations and then given to the children that would like to keep one at the end.

You can also have a gift basket or goodie bags with fun items for them to choose to take home. Here are some ideas...

  • crayons

  • a coloring book

  • bubbles

  • lip gloss

  • nail polish

  • girly stickers

  • matchbox cars-for any boys

  • small bouncy balls

  • containers of play dough

  • cool paper and pens

  • swirly straws

  • candy bars

  • ANYTHING to do with candy :)

  • Here are some easy packaging ideas that kids will love:

  • Stack a few cookies and wrap in cellophane with a cute tag.

  • Fill a see through box like Chinese takeout box with fun food or candy. Some ideas would include m&ms, gold fish, Swedish fish, animal crackers, hard caramel corn, jelly beans, and skittles.

  • Place a cupcake in a cute little cupcake box.

  • Use ribbon to tie a box of crayons to a note pad.

  • Wrap caramel popcorn in cellophane and tie with ribbon. Place in a small lunch bag.

  • Put together a kit: An example would be a smores kit (Hershey bar, marshmallows, and graham crackers)

  • Fill a cone shaped cello bag with hot cocoa mix and add mini marshmallows on top. Tie with a cute tag and ribbon.

  • Melt crayons into some fun shapes to go with the baby shower theme.

  • Fill clear miniature containers with candy and tie with a bow.

  • Make a homemade bird seed favor that they can hang on a tree.

  • Make caramel apples and wrap in cellophane.

  • Make cookie lollipops to match your theme. Cover with a plastic bag and tie with a ribbon.

  • A fun child's party gift does not need to be pricey to be fun. Depending on the age you can select entertaining and fun items they would love.

Good luck planning the baby shower!

    Baby Shower invitation
    by: Anonymous

lf you send a baby invitation out an don't put surprise should people disregard that as it's ok to tell the guest of honor about her shower by sending gifts to her house if they can't attend it.
l was brought up that if you recieved an invited it meant to keep your mouth shut not to tell the guest of honor to ruin her shower.

    Thank you
